Intro and ExampleAccording to Kelley, there are eight possible attributions one can make concerning an observed behavior, depending upon situational evidence concerning Consensus, Distinctiveness, and Consistency. For each situation, we can write down the evidence that supports each attribution, and proceed to characterize the attribution in terms of either Actor, Situation, or some combination of the two. Further, we can characterize each attribution as either stable or unstable, and offer a possible explanation. Here’s a partial example.********See loaded file******Part IPrepare a table like the one in the example, for the following observation:John is unable to work his TV remote.Provide entries for all eight rows. (The example skips rows 2 through 7.)Part IIIf the situational evidence needed to do a Kelley-type analysis is not available, how might our naïve attributions be influenced by the Fundamental Attribution Error? By the Just World Hypothesis? Which of the eight attributions listed in your table would be most affected? Why? Be specific.References:Burkeman, O., 2015.
